About Paydoly
Paydoly is building the payments network for the Dominican Republic: wallets for people, tools for merchants, payouts for teams and a cash agent network that connects them — on one balance, in pesos and dollars. Paydoly Inc. is our US parent company; Paydoly Dominicana, S.R.L. is our Dominican operating company. We're a small team holding a large surface, and the work ships to real counters fast.
The role
For thousands of small businesses, the merchant app will be the till, the scanner and the back office. It has to be fast on mid-range Android phones, clear under pressure at a busy counter, and dependable on patchy connections.
You'll own significant parts of the app, including Quick Sell's camera-based barcode scanning, the checkout flow and the tools owners use to manage stores, staff and payouts.
What you'll do
- Build and ship features in the merchant app across iOS and Android
- Own the camera and barcode-scanning experience: speed, accuracy and feedback
- Make checkout resilient to poor connectivity, with clear retry and pending states
- Instrument performance on mid-range devices and fix what slows people down
- Work closely with design on interaction details and accessibility
- Visit merchants to watch the app in use and bring back what you learn
What you'll bring
- Four or more years shipping mobile apps used in production
- Strong React Native or native iOS/Android experience
- Experience with device camera APIs, scanning or computer-vision libraries
- Care for performance, offline behaviour and battery use
- Comfort working across the API boundary with backend engineers
- Professional English; Spanish is a plus
Nice to have
- Experience with point-of-sale, retail or payments apps
- Experience publishing to both app stores and managing releases
- Familiarity with accessibility on mobile
- Experience with Expo and over-the-air updates
